Seeds

Seeds Program

Hilltop's Seeds program meets two consecutive days per week on Thursdays and Fridays. While the Seeds program is welcoming and appropriate for all children between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 6 years old, the majority of children in this program are experiencing preschool for the first time. This program is a loving and nurturing introduction to a school environment.

Program Goals

The primary goal of this program is to provide children with a positive and successful preschool experience while building self-esteem and fostering healthy relationships. While children are in this program, they gain knowledge of how to meet their own needs, gain independence and interact in a social setting. Children experience what it means to be a part of a group, how to solve a problem and communicate successfully. Children will grow, develop and gain a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.

How it Happens

In the Seed's program, everything happens through play and the interests of the children. Children in this program will encounter several first experiences as they observe, explore, discover, wonder and manipulate materials in the environment. The teacher works with the children and materials as h/she guides them through their expanding base of knowledge.
